    Acute lung injury ( ALI) is induced by direct and indirect injury,and It causes the damage of alveolar epithelial cells and capillary endothelial cells. Acute lung injury is characterized by Acute lung injury is characterized by the development of hypoxemia,damage to the alveolar capillary membrane barrier,pulmonary ede-ma, and the resultant respiratory failure Acute lung injury ( ALI) and acute respiratory distress syndrome ( ARDS) in their most severe forms are still major challenges in modern intensive care medicine that significantly contribute to morbidity and mortality of critically ill patients. there is no particularly effective treatment , so far. it is still a Thorny Medical Problem all of the world. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells ( BMMSC) is the another type of stem cell other than the bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells . BMMSC is understudied deeply with the indepth study of cell biology. It provides a new way for the treatment of ALI as the characteristics that can survive damage lung tissue in mice and differentiated into alveolar epithelial cells, repair damaged lung tissue. This paper reviews the potential therapeutic effect of BMMSC to ALI and its mechanism.

    Neuroprotection by ischemic preconditioning has been confirmed by many studies, but the precise mechanism remains unclear. In the present study, we performed cerebral ischemic pre-conditioning in rats by simulating a transient ischemic attack twice (each a 20-minute occlusion of the middle cerebral artery) before inducing focal cerebral infarction (2 hour occlusion-reper-fusion in the same artery). We also explored the mechanism underlying the neuroprotective effect of ischemic preconditioning. Seven days after occlusion-reperfusion, tetrazolium chloride staining and immunohistochemistry revealed that the infarct volume was signiifcantly smaller in the group that underwent preconditioning than in the model group. Furthermore, vascular endothelial growth factor immunoreactivity was considerably greater in the hippocampal CA3 region of preconditioned rats than model rats. Our results suggest that the protective effects of ischemic preconditioning on focal cerebral infarction are associated with upregulation of vascu-lar endothelial growth factor.

    Virtual reality is a new technology that simulates a three-dimensional virtual world on a com-puter and enables the generation of visual, audio, and haptic feedback for the full immersion of users. Users can interact with and observe objects in three-dimensional visual space without limitation. At present, virtual reality training has been widely used in rehabilitation therapy for balance dysfunction. This paper summarizes related articles and other articles suggesting that virtual reality training can improve balance dysfunction in patients after neurological diseases. When patients perform virtual reality training, the prefrontal, parietal cortical areas and other motor cortical networks are activated. These activations may be involved in the reconstruction of neurons in the cerebral cortex. Growing evidence from clinical studies reveals that virtual reality training improves the neurological function of patients with spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and other neurological impairments. These ifndings suggest that virtual reality training can acti-vate the cerebral cortex and improve the spatial orientation capacity of patients, thus facilitating the cortex to control balance and increase motion function.

    Objective To investigate the effects of lumbar sacral selective posterior rhizotomy on spasticity of upper limbs,epilepsy, strabismus, sialorrhea and dysarthria of patients with spastic cerebral palsy.Methods 825 patients with cerebral palsy who had received SPR between 1990 and 1998 were followed up for two years at least.Results Of 328 cases with spasticity of upper limbs,67(20.4% ) had partial amelioration of spasticity of upper limbs.Of 35 cases with epilepsy, 31(88.6% ) had lower frequency of onset or needed to take lower dose drug to control than ever.Of 386 cases with strabismus,132(34.2% ) had improved.Of 73 cases with sialorrhea,49(67.1% ) had improved, 21(28.8% ) had found sialorrhea disappeararnce.Of 456 cases with dysarthria,72(15.8% ) had improved.Conclusion Selective posterior rhizotomy has curative effect on combined symptoms in some of patients with cerebral palsy.

    INTRODUCTION Traditional concept about the transmural filling pressure (TFP) of either ventricle[1] is misleading for the lack of a thorough understanding of respiration-related hemodynamics. Based on the combination of the circulatory anatomy and function with the hydromechanic principles, two in vitro and one in vivo experiments were designed to establish a more rational concept about the TFP.

    INTRODUCTION The mechanism of pulsus paradoxus in cardiac tamponade has been debated for over a century and despite many years of extensive research and a variety of techniques, its hemodynamic principle remains enigmatic[1]. To reveal the exact mechanism, we, based on our previous findings of the respiration-ventricular filling curve (R-FP curve), designed this experiment of cardiac tamponade in spontaneously breathing dogs.

    Platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) and PDGF receptor-β(PDGFR) play critical roles in proliferation and envolving into MsPGN of mesangial cells in embryonic development. The mechanisms can be demonstrated mainly from several aspects such as promoting the proliferation of glomerular mesangial cells (GMC), stimulating the GMC expression of extracellular matrix components and synergism with other growth factors like transform growth factor-β(TGF-β) and so on. As in the pathological development of mesangial proliferative lesions, GMCs is not only the victim of kidney damage but also the direct participants. GMCs can secrete excessive PDGF-BB and other growth factors which could react to GMCs, leading to malignant progress of kidney damage. Therefore, inhibiting GMCs over expression of PDGF-BB and blocking the effect of PDGF-BB on promoting proliferation and ECM accumulation is undoubtedly an effective way to delay kidney damage.
